Grad School (part 4)

Published by

I’m reading Growing Whole, by Molly Young Brown for my psych. class. Actually, the reading isn’t due until the 23rd, but I want to get it over with so I can focus on my papers. If I’m going to procrastinate writing, I might as well do it with other school work, yes? Its a relatively quick and easy read, but frustrating at times. Mostly because it is so nice. While I’m all about bringing spiritual dimensions and ideas into the study of the psyche, these are potentially rather powerful things. They aren’t always nice things. And I don’t need to feel like “its okay, even the butterflies will accept the darkness, here hold this crystal”, which is what this book is making me think of.

*sigh*

So, I have about 100 pages to go in it. I’m thinking of taking a break and going to go see Spider, which is playing here in town. Nothing like a David Cronenberg mental-fuck-fest to clear the sinuses.
