Power was restored last night at 10:30 or so.
This was a pleasant surprise, as we had every indication that we’d be in the dark until tonight. I’m grateful that this one went off without a hitch. So far, it seems our perishables remain unperished.
The sky this morning, is no less apocalyptic. It is almost 8am, and I haven’t seen a morning like this since the 2017 fires. It is still pretty dark outside, as if sunrise has been hitting the snooze button multiple times. I can’t even begin to describe the color – burnt grey bruised orange-yellow is the best approximation I have, and it’s not even close.
It it were tissue, it would be necrotic.
Today, we remain on the Borderlands in the House of Silence. The sky has not shattered, but it remains brittle.
One good rock could break it like a mirror.
We have electricity, though.
It should be enough to keep the swine-things at bay.
